League Game
Lutterworth 13pts v Hinckley 32pts
Lutterworth Colts sponsored by ‘George’s Taxis’ welcomed Hinckley for their 6th league game of the season and after a hard fought first half, they struggled to hold onto the visitors in the second, eventually suffering a 32-13 defeat.
Hinckley scored two tries but Lutts responded with two penalties from Luke Ball. The home side threatened but their visitors were masters in the art of slowing the game down, which eventually led to a yellow card for the no. 8, but whistle blew for half time with Lutterworth down 6-12
Hinckley dominated the early parts of the 2nd half scoring 3 quick tries and putting the game beyond Lutterworth’s reach. However this didn’t stop the home side scoring the try of the game as a lively Luke Ball finished off a lovely passing move, racing in down the wing to score in the corner. Ball stepped up to slot the difficult conversion making it 32-13 at the close.
Head Coach Steve Dillow said “This was a tough encounter as the lads matched a very strong Hinckley for 35 minutes but couldn’t hold on in the 2nd half. We scored a lovely try which should make us realise that when we move that ball quickly out to the wings, we can hurt anybody.”
This Saturday Lutterworth travel to meet Leicester Lions, for their 7th Leicestershire Colts league game of the season (kick off 2.15 PM).
