Midlands 2 East League Match
Lutterworth 18pts: v Huntingdon 40pts
A very scrappy affair which Lutterworth seemed to have under control at half time leading 18 points to 10. Unfortunately a combination of poor discipline, which resulted in three yellow cards, 1 or 2 50/50 refereeing decisions going against the home side, and strong play from the visiting forwards helped Huntingdon to win the second half 32 points to Lutterworth’s nil, the final score being Lutterworth 18 Huntingdon 42.
The visitors opened the scoring with a penalty quickly nullified by 2 penalties by Robin Eager. Then after strong forward pressure the visitors went back in front with a converted try. Lutterwroth then spread the ball wide for a well worked try by Dan Ford, which was converted by Eager. Lutterworth were under the cosh again on their own line when Robin Eager intercepted to run the whole length of the field, supported well by Ben Stretton to go over for a try.
HT 18-10
The second half was all Huntingdon with Lutterworth contributing to their own down fall with a high penalty count and three yellow cards. The visitors scored 5 tries two of which were converted and one penalty.
