Belgrave 17pts  v  Lutterworth 36pts

A lovely sunny day with a very good playing surface to boot. Lutterworth found themselves three points in front in the first five minutes through a penalty from Elliot Bale. Belgrave who have come a long way forward during the last three seasons soon fought back with a try from Joe Lorriman, they failed to convert but took a lead of two points 5 – 3. Lutterworth worked hard and regained their lead through Alex Dann. Alex took the ball right across the field and cut down the wing to score in the corner, Elliot Bale converted and Lutts took their lead to 5 – 10. Belgrave once again battled hard and brought the score level through KP, the conversion was scored and they had a lead of 12 – 10.

The game was now a close affair with both sides putting 100% in and no quarter given by either side. Just before half time Ingham got a try after the we won the ball from a maul, Mikey gathered it up and crossed the line to score, Elliot Bale again converted and Lutts took a half time lead of 12 – 17.

The second half saw a lot of replacements for Lutterworth and the fresher players soon took a more comfortable lead when Elliot Bale put in a fabulous run zig zagging through their pack before giving a lovely pass to Jamie Steventon who ran on and scored in the corner, with Elliot’s conversion the score was 12 – 24. Elliot who was having a great game scored a try of his own with the conversion the score was now 12 – 31. Belgrave never gave up and they scored a lovely try when Lutts cleared their lines and their winger Chas Busby ran through to catch the ball and power his way down the wing to score in the corner. The score was now 17 – 31. The final score of the day was left to the hard working Ryan Bruce, Ryan received a lovely ball from Barney Barker and Ryan twisted in and out and crossed the line with a great dive taking the final count to 17 – 36 to Lutterworth RFC.
