Lutterworth 48pts  v  Northampton Old Scouts 10pts

Lutterworth started the 2007 / 2008 season in fine form to continue where they left of last season. It took them six minutes from the start of the game to score; it was Josh Connor who started the scoring. Joshua picked up a loose ball and barged through with four guys trying to stop him 5 0. It is the first season for picking up in the lineouts and Lutterworth looked very good winning the first three lineouts. Josh Williams leaps like a Salmon and he looks a natural at this winning the ball every time. Joe Leeks had to be carried off after 12 minutes and unfortunately there has been a fracture with the injury. The game continued and Elliott Bale received a pass and bobbed and weaved through Old Scouts defence to place the ball under the post’s Elliott also converted and the score was 12 0.

Old Scouts rallied and they managed to score after 20 mins. Lutterworth failed to tackle low enough and the powerful forward of Scouts Laurence Davidson scored under the post’s, Bullevant scored the conversion and it was game on 12 - 7.Within 30 seconds Lutterworth scored it looked as if the opposition scoring had upset them, great hands from Vostanis passed the ball to Bruce, who in turn passed on to Williams, Williams was then tackled and as he was he spun out of the tackle to score a great try 17 - 7. Connor was the next Lutts player to score after great work from the pack. The pack pushed the hapless Old Scouts forwards nearly 15 metres back and Connor got the ball and barged through to score 22 - 7. Lutterworth looked very good and enthusiastic, their enthusiasm was curtailed for a moment, when Referee Thacker awarded a penalty to Old Scouts, Bullevant scored with a fine kick taking the score now to 22 10 at halftime.

Lutterworth increased their lead when Hargreaves threw in a lovely ball to Josh Williams, Alex Dann passed it out to Bale, Bale went on a run and he side stepped an opponent to put the ball under the post’s, Elliott also scored the conversion and the score was now29 10. Lizard boy Ingham scored a try for Lutterworth, Ewan Grunwald went on one of his dazzling runs he passed the ball to Mikey and he went over in the corner after barging through three players 34 10. Williams won another lineout and Jack Lewis ran through he beat a couple of players only to be caught just before the line, indeed he was unlucky not to score. Ryan Bruce was working tirelessly he and Bale were linking up well and always looked a threat. A few changes were made but Lutterworth continued their momentum. Rayner threw the ball to McDougall in the line out and McDougall threw it out to Bruce, Bruce out to Barker and Barker went through dragging three opponents over the line with him making the score after the conversion by Bruce to 41 10. Lutts were not finished yet and it was Leo Yorke who got the last try of the day when Connor picked up a loose ball then dummied and gave the ball to Yorke, Yorke ran through evading a couple of tackles to round of a great day for Lutts. Elliot scored the conversion and Lutterworth won the game by 48 10 to complete a very good performance
