Under 13 Match Report
SUNDAY 23rd September 2007
Lutterworth 57pts v South Leicester 0pts
The game against South Leicester was overshadowed by the untimely death of Dave Turner during the week before the game. The game itself was in some doubt until late in the week. Prior to the game a minute’s silence was held and impeccably observed in honour and appreciation of Dave T.
Unfortunately for South Leicester in view of the circumstances they were on a hiding to nothing . The Lutterworth boys played with their hearts on their sleeves and it was clearly never going to be an issue whether we won only by how many. Dave would have been proud of the superb handling and running lines that he had helped to instil in the squad. Again the opposition found it almost impossible to control the running skills of George Ball who scored 4 of the tries. It was pleasing to see the ball moved around so freely by the backs culminating in tries for Nathan Hurr, James Gamble, Harry Williams, Sam Webb and Jamie Jameson. Sam Webb converted 6 of the tries with Jamie Hewitt converting 1. The score line reflected the performance which was a fitting tribute to Dave T.
