Under 13 Match Report
SUNDAY 7th October 2007
Kenilworth School Festival
We had been scheduled to meet Nuneaton away however at the last minute both ourselves and Nuneaton were invited to take part in the Kenilworth School Festival. This decision was probably regretted by both the organisers and the other clubs involved as Nuneaton proceeded to win their group and Lutterworth continued their devastating early season form to lift the trophy without conceding a point and returning the first silverware of the season to be dedicated to Dave T.
This festival was a 10’s festival and played over only 7 minutes each way which made the scores returned even more remarkable as follows:
GROUP GAME 1

Lutterworth U13 |
Tamworth U13 |

Having convincingly beaten Tamworth only the week previously the boys were confident that we could get on to a good start in the festival and so it proved with tries being scored by Jamie Jamison, George Ball (2) , Ollie Allen and Sam Webb with conversions from Callum McDonald (2), Fraser Kennedy and Jamie Jameson

Old Leamingtonians U13 |

The demolition of West Midlands opposition continued against Old Leamingtonians who could not match the power at the break down of our forwards or the running and handling skills of the backs. Tries were scored by George Ball (3) Sam Webb and Charlie Watts with conversions from Ollie Allen (2) and Callum McDonald (1)
GROUP GAME 3

Another powerful performance overwhelm the opposition with tries from Ollie Allen, Declan Kiely, Ben Gledhill and George Ball with conversions from Callum McDonald (2) and Ollie Allen.

As with Kenilworth School side the Club had until this point been unbeaten in the festival. They could not, however, compete with the power of our forwards or the ball handling and pace of our backs. Another comprehensive victory was achieved with tries from Callum McDonald, George Ball (2) and James Gamble with conversions from Ollie Allen (2) and Callum McDonald.
This victory meant that we won the group and would meet Leamington the runners up from Group B in the semi-final.

This game became somewhat one-sided as a result of the fact that Leamington could not cope with the pace and power of George Ball who scored 4 tries before being substituted the remaining try being scored by Jamie Jameson with Ollie Allen converting 2 of the tries leading to a final against Nuneaton whom we should have played today in any event.

Nuneaton proved to be the strongest side we had played all day but again were overwhelmed by the power and tenacity throughout the team and finishing capabilities of George all who scored all 3 tries one of which was converted by Callum McDonald.
All in all the festival was a useful measure as to how far the under 13’s have progressed over the last 12 to 18 months with good solid performances from all squad members throughout the day.
Well Done boys!
