League Match

HUNTINGDON 1st : 30pts  V  LUTTERWORTH  1st : 7pts

Lutterworth’s loyal travelling supporters had little to cheer about as they saw their side go down to a heavy league defeat at Huntingdon on Saturday. Lutts started the game well enough and the run of play was fairly even for most of the first half although Huntingdon pulled out a 12-3 lead at half time with two tries and a conversion to a Bobby Williams penalty. The hosts scored another try fifteen minutes into the second half to take a 17-3 lead but Lutterworth were still in with a slim chance with twenty five minutes of the game remaining. It was not to be and a further try five minutes later put a win out of reach and Huntingdon were then able to run in another three tries at will, one of which they converted to bring the tally to the final 39-3. The performance of flanker Matt Randle was the one bright spot in a performance that the team knows they will have to improve if they are to win their 5th Round match against Sutton Coldfield in the EDF Senior Vase knockout competition this Saturday at home with a 2pm kick-off.
