Under 16 Match Report
SUNDAY 24th September 2006
Lutterworth under 16’s travelled to Chesterfield RUFC on Sunday to meet a team they had never played before. The long trip was well worthwhile as they registered a superb 59-0 win.
After a slow start by both teams, Lutts eventually took control scoring four unopposed tries through Will Keeling (two), Joe Burnham and Ashley Parrott. Keeling was on fire as he kicked all four conversions. Try of the half came as Lutts stole Chesterfield line out ball and quickly moved the ball through five sets of hands before James Cooke popped a lovely pass for Joe Burnham to race through and score in the corner. The half time score was 24-0 to Lutterworth.
The one-way traffic continued in the second half as Lutts scored another five tries through Tris Crawshaw, Dan Holmes, Warren Ellis, Peter Rowe and Liam Healy. Keeling scored another two conversions, with a third added by Bradly Milner. Try of this half came as Dan Holmes received the ball on half way, he made a stunning jinking run, beating 4 players before cleverly cutting back in under the post’s. This caped an excellent game for Holmes and helped Lutts to an emphatic 59-0 win.
Next week Lutts entertain Oadby Wyggs, minus their County players, who will be away on their first Leicestershire under 16’s training session.
