Under 16 Match Report
SUNDAY 22nd October 2006
Lutterworth 52pts v Oakham 5pts
Parrott scores 2nd half hat trick!
Lutterworth under 16’s welcomed Oakham on Sunday and registered a half-century of points, to run out 52-0 winners.
In a closely fought first half, Lutts found themselves playing against a strong wind, but they still managed two scores. Try one came as Dan Holmes released Gareth Clarke who broke through the defensive line from half way and was unstoppable, running through at speed. Bradly Milner converted the kick in front of the posts. Try two came as scrum half Sam Berrill put Oakham loose scrum ball under pressure before moving the ball to Milner, who crashed through in the corner to make it 12-0 at half time.
With the wind in there favour Lutts looked a different side as they scored 6 more unanswered tries through Will Williams, Gareth Clarke, Miles Lowry and a brilliant hat trick from Ashley Parrott. Try of the half came from Clarke as quick scrum ball was moved quickly through 5 sets of hands, before Clarke ran on at pace to finish off a great team try. Number 8 Ashley Parrott was on fire he scored 3 great tries in the last 15 minutes, the final of which was a lovely pick up and drive from the back of a scrum.
A Lutts spokesman said “a much better game from Lutterworth. The boys are now starting to look like the team of old, playing some breath taking rugby today. When they pass that ball out to the wings at speed, there is no better sight!”
Next week Lutts travel to meet Belgrave (kick off 11.00 am).
