Under 16 Match Report
SUNDAY 19th November 2006
COUNTY CUP - PLATE
Leicester Forest 0pts v Lutterworth 56pts
Lutterworth under 16’s travelled to Leicester Forest on Sunday in the Quarter Final of this season’s County Plate and breezed through to a massive 56-0 win.
Head Coach Chris Everard had kept faith the players who had won all their games over the last month, while the nine County players had been away. And his team selection was rewarded as Lutts ran in 5 tries in a one way first half. Hooker Joe Sullivan was on fire as he scored a hat trick of tries, with Joe Burnham and Luke Ball adding the others. James Cook converted two scores to make it 36-0 at half time.
It was more of the same in the second half as another 5 unanswered tries were scored through Jack Edwards, Ashley Parrott, Miles Lowry and two from Connor Smith. Cooke added another conversion to make it 56-0 at the final whistle.
A spokesman said “Well done to Leicester Forest who despite the one way pressure, just kept on going and tackled their hearts out. Thank you also to this young Lutterworth squad who once again put together another exciting and powerful display”.
Lutts will go on to face Coalville in the County Plate Semi Final, to be played in February.
