Under 15 Match Report

SUNDAY 25th March  2007

Market Bosworth 50pts  v  Lutterworth 19pts

All credit to Market Bosworth under 15s they wanted this win more than Lutterworth RFC. They were quicker off the mark and their support play was far superior to Lutterworth’s.

Bosworth took the lead after five minutes when a loose ball was picked up from Nathan Harrison who burst through a static defence to put the ball under the post’s, with the conversion from Joe Rumming the score was 7 – 0 to the home side. Lutterworth replied immediately from the kick off through Joe Leeks who caught the kick off ball and ran in the corner to reduce the arrears, 7 – 5 Bosworth extended their lead through Jack Deheran and Rumming slotted the conversion over as well 14 – 5. Lutterworth again scored and it was Ewan Grunwald the speedy winger who got through and side stepped a couple of tackles and left their defence in his wake to score a great try.  Luke Sandford converted and the score was 14 – 12 at half time to Market Bosworth.

It was 20 minutes into the second half before the next score was on the board, it was Bosworth who scored and again Nathan Harrison who got on the score sheet Joe Rumming again converted and it was looking easier for Bosworth at 21 – 12. Lutterworth battled but looked out of sorts and it was Josh Williams who lead the way and started to push up field. Joshua Connor got the ball and burst through five players, he was brought down and he set it up for the backs to spread it out for Joe Leeks to score his second try for Lutterworth 21 -19 and the game was back for anyone to win. Bosworth were the team who seemed to want it more and  5 more tries in the last ten minutes from Luke Verble 1 Nathan Harrison 3 Joe Rumming 1 with a couple of conversions by Rumming took lead and final score to 50 – 19 for Bosworth. This was the first time this season that Lutterworth have conceded more in the scrums than they won. Their lineouts were better and the movement was very good with lots of support. Lutterworth looked slow and did not seem to get going at all, their play was very patchy and the score outlined that.

Coaches Comments:

"A very poor display, we did not have the right attitude and it was very disappointing to lose in such a poor manner. We lacked backbone and knowledge. The result was not the issue; it was the way we did not perform that concerns the coaching staff. We will go back to square one and stop the laughing and joking; we will work hard and get some pride back before we go on tour to Italy."

Man of the Match: If anyone should come out with credit it was Josh Williams a very good game, giving total commitment and never gave up.
