Under 15 Match Report
SUNDAY 10th December 2006
Lutterworth 27pts V Barkers Butts 5pts
Easy Win, No Butts about it
Lutterworth RFC scored within 20 seconds Ingham caught the kickoff from Butts and passed it on to Connor, Joshua pirouetted and released it to Daniel Ellis, Ellis ran a full 60 Metres and crossed the line evading the chasing pack, 5 – 0 to the Lutts. Another score was not long in coming. Bruce playing at outside centre today received the ball from Thacker who missed one out, he found Ryan who sprinted and dodged in & out to score the second try of the day, Ryan of course had to convert his own try and the score was an impressive 12 – 0 after seven minutes. Ellis showed again after 15 minutes, this time he stole the ball from the Barker Butts winger, Daniel lengthened his stride and crossed the line once again in the corner, 17 – 0 Lutterworth. Barker Butts giant forward broke loose but the small man from Lutterworth Bradley Pell stopped him in his track. in fact the 6 ft 3 ins player needed treatment after he felt the full force from Bradders. Harry Goldsworthy was unlucky not to score when he broke away and was just caught 1 metre from the line, it deserved a try but it was not to be on this occasion. Another new signing Eddie Hopkins was next to get on the scoresheet, Eddie barged through in the corner to the delight of the large crowd making the score 22 – 0 at the half time break.
Within three minutes of the restart our little dynamo Bradley Pell was at it again. Another player from Butts ended up sprawled out on the floor because of a crunching tackle from the powerhouse Pell. Again Pell tackled well, this time he was the last man and sure enough the opponent went down (Brad has been fed on raw meat all week) Barker Butts did get on the scoresheet. They won a scrum and fed it to Michael Horton who scored in the corner. 22 – 5 and maybe a ray of light for Barker Butts. The game had slowed down a little but it was not long before Ingham extended the lead Mikey did two handoffs and cut inside to score and make the final score 27 – 5 to the boys from Lutterworth RFC.
Man of the Match: Bradley Pell from the backs
Daniel Ellis from the forwards.
Coaches Comments: " Started well in the conditions, but we let it slip and started to panic. We did come back well but we need to concentrate for the entire 80 minutes. However we did move the ball well, with tackling like that of Bradders we won't go far wrong this season"
