Under 15 Match Report
SUNDAY 1st April 2007
Leamington 0pts v Lutterworth 70pts
Two hat trick of tries and a solid performance from the guys today earned Lutterworth a win which will improve the point’s difference to what they are accustomed too. Alex Dann got on the scoresheet after two minutes. Powerful work from Williams enabled Dann to pick up the ball and sprint through in the corner to place the ball over the line. There was then a great conversion from Elliot Bale 1 metre in from touch against a strong wind to get his first points in a Lutterworth Shirt 0 – 7. Dominic Hurr continued with his hard work lately and he scored his first try of the day. Dominic ran on when a Leamington clearance went straight up against the strong wind and Hurr ran on to take advantage of this and put it in the corner 0 – 12. Josh Williams who has improved immensely in the last month showed just how strong he is becoming when he put pressure on their forwards, he won the ball and crossed the line to score his first of the day 0 -17. The best move so far of the match resuled when the ball was spread right across the field and Ewan Grunwald stepped out and sped passed the fullback to score, Bale again scored a great conversion and the score was now 0 – 24.
Lutterworth kept the pressure on, Goodfellow was catching well in the lineouts and Dann and Pell were running the moves in the middle of the park. Dominic Hurr scored his second of the day, another great five man move, Dann, Grunwald, Pell, Bale and eventually Hurr the scorer increased the lead. Bale scored again and the score was now 0 – 31. Connor came on at number eight and within a minute the big lad scored when we won a ruck and Connor went over with the ball 0 – 36 at half time.
Much of the same in the second half Lutterworth scored when Goodfellow received the ball, Chris ran through and his momentum took him over the line 0 – 41. Eddie Eddie Eddie Eddie, came on at centre and the powerhouse took no time at all to burst through with a great run and threw the ball out high and wide to Leo Yorke who ran with him all the way. Leo put it down in the corner to score and Bale again converted 0 – 48. Elliot Bale scored his first try for the club he bobbed and weaved through to score then converted his own try 0 – 55. All credit to Leaminton as although they had no answer to Lutterworths squad their heads never went down and they kept their discipline and never gave up the cause. Dominic Hurr scored his hat trick, again in the corner and he let Admin know he had done just that 0 - 60. Williams who came on again decided that anything Hurr could do he could do better. Josh burst through and then did a little side step to put the ball under the post’s Eddie Eddie Eddie missed a simple conversion, to the laughing crowd. Williams wanted more and he did just that, another great run resulted in him getting his hat trick and it rounded of the score for the day to 0 – 70 a good run out for all concerned.
Lutts man of the match: Elliot Bale very impressive kicking, with good passing skills.
Coaches Comments: "Well played, show respect to Leamington RFC they never gave up and they deserve a lot of credit for that. This was a good run out and lets now get focused for Italy"
