Melton Mowbray 17pts v Lutterworth 22pts
Melton kick off with a very stiff breeze behind them Lutterworth take the ball but can only clear to the 22 yard line, from the line out Melton Mowbrey pass the ball across the back line and gain another 5 yards, they recycle the ball from the ruck and gain another 5 yards and are given the scrum 10 yards out, the no.8 picks up from the back of the scrum holds off two tackles to crash over and open the scoring, they convert the try to go 7-0 up.
Lutterworth continue to struggle to the ball out of their own half playing into the wind, Melton Mowbrey keep the pressure on and keep kicking deep into the Lutterworth half and from a line out pass the ball right across the field then back again to produce an overlap to score in the corner. A rare break by Sam Weatherall takes the ball into the Melton Mowbrey 22 and he is only stopped by a last gasp tackle by the Melton Mowbrey full back, but again Melton Mowbrey kick clear then Lutterworth give away a scrum on the 5 yard line and with options all round Melton Mowbrey pass across the backs to score in the corner and increase their lead further.
With the half time interval approaching Melton Mowbrey break again and when their no. 8 charges from 5 yards into the corner he looks certain to score again, only for Lutterworths own no. 8 Chris Gutteridge to charge across and tackle man and ball into touch for a Lutterworth line out 5 yards out they clear from the line out to go in at half time 17-0 down.

Lutterworth kick off the second half with the wind on their backs knowing they need a early score to get back into the game and when the kick off goes all the way to the Melton Mowbrey 5 yards line the full back is pressurised by 3 no Lutterworth players and forced to touch down in his own goal area to give Lutterworth a 5 yard scrum from the scrum fly half Beau Green passes to scrum half Leo Sollit who dummies to pass and darts through the gap to touch down under the posts untouched, Uldis Krievs converts to reduce the point deficit further.
Now it is Lutterworth on the attack and Melton Mowbrey who can not clear the danger and from another attacking ruck No. 8 Chris Gutteridge picks up the ball and sprints down the blindside to score in the corner, Uldis Krievs misses the conversion from the touch line. Next it is forward Jarrad Carter who picks up from a ruck 5 yards out and dives through the defence to touch down and level the scores With time running out it looks again Lutterworth keep the pressure on the Melton Mowbrey defence and when the full back tries to kick clear it lands just behind Lutterworths no. 8 Chris Gutteridge on the 22 yard line he takes the ball on the first bounce and runs around the first Melton Mowbrey forward still going 10 yards out he goes round the winger and with the Melton Mowbrey full back covering across he dives over in the corner to give Lutterworth the lead. With only a few minutes left Lutterworths Uldis Krievs keeps clearing any danger deep into the Melton Mowbrey half and some good solid defence sees them through to the final whistle to run out worthy winners
