Lutterworth  12pts V  Nuneaton  10pts

Nuneaton kick off on a sunny morning and immediately put pressure on the Lutterworth defence and Uldis Krievs kicks clear to relieve the danger. A good line out throw from John Harman gets the ball to Beau Green to give an early touch  to the Lutterworth backs and Lutterworth take the ball deep into the Nuneaton half. However Nuneaton clear the ball but knock on just inside the Lutterworth half. From the resulting scrum no. 8 Chris Gutteridge picks up from the back of the scrum and goes down the blindside handing off the opposing winger and sprinting around the full back to touch down in the corner and open the scoring for Lutterworth. Uldis Krievs hits the post missing the conversion.

Lutterworth keep the pressure on Nuneaton with some good forward ball retention and some good tackling from Jared Carter, John Harman and Harry Gregory. From another set scrum Lutterworth pass the ball across the field and when the forwards recycle the ball Sam Huckerby breaks through the defence to run in under the posts. Uldis Krievs converts to give Lutterworth a 12-0 lead. Nuneaton pick up the pace to try and get back into the game and when they are held up they get a scrum on the 5 yard line and the number 8 picks up from the back of the scrum and dives over to reduce the deficit, missed conversion leave Lutterworth with a 7 point lead at half time.

Lutterworth kick off the second half and again the forwards put pressure on the Nuneaton defence who kick the ball clear to the 10 yard line. Lutterworth suffer a couple of injuries early in the second half and the forwards lose a bit of their momentum.  Nuneaton attempt to capitalise but some dogged tackling by Jarrad Carter and Alex Head keep them at bay. With time running out Nuneaton finally break down the Lutterworth defence and touch down in the corner, to bring them within 2 points. However they miss the conversion to level the scores. Lutterworth are now doing all the defending and with time running out look to hold onto their slender lead, when from a set scrum half way inside the Lutterworth half the Nuneaton scrum half sets off down the blindside around the defence only for flanker Sam Huckerby to cover across and send him into touch on the  5 yard line. Lutterworth win their line out and kick clear to hold on for a narrow victory
