Lutterworth started this match like a train and they pushed Market Bosworth deep into their own half right from the start. Within two minutes Barnaby Barker (Bam) scored a try but it was disallowed for a foul movement. This did not deter the Lutts and after five Minutes Ben Stone went on a run and passed to Dan Thacker, Dan set it down for Bam to take it on, he was stopped just before the try line and Mikeal Ingham picked it up to set us on our way, The conversion was missed 0 5. Barnaby again went on one of his mazy runs beating off one or two tackles he then passed on to Dan Thacker who promptly finished off with a try 0 10, Ryan Bruce just failed to convert.
After twenty minutes the coaches decided to make changes, and Lutterworth who had a squad of 30 today made 7 changes to the starting 15. Lutterworth carried on where they had left off and Bosworth were in all sorts of trouble. Ryan Bruce making his debut stole the ball and ran 30 Metres evading two challenges putting the ball between the posts 0 15, the conversion was again missed. Market Bosworth surprised Lutterworth with a breakaway down the wing this caught the Lutterworth pack standing still, Nathan Harrison scoring their one and only try of the game 5 15. Bosworth again broke through, this time Paddy Radley was on hand to chase their winger down and put in a great tackle to save them from scoring again. Ryan Bruce again intercepted a Bosworth pass, he then sprinted forward evading the opposition and scored his second try, another try not converted, and the score was now 5 20. Mickeal Ingham was slotted by one of the Bosworth attack and had to be calmed down but things soon got sorted out and the Lutterworth team scored again within one minute of the incident. Dan Thacker gained possession and kicked through he maintained his speed and dived on to the ball too cross the line making the score 5 25. Guess what? The conversion was yet again missed.
Now it was the turn of Big Chris, the lineout was caught by Chris Goodfellow and he dived over to make the score 5 30 conversion was again not completed. The final try was scored in the last minute, a great passage of play was completed with Dominic Hurr ( Retuning from his international duties in Scotland) crossing the line on the wing making the final score 5 35 (you guessed it the conversion was missed, ( Seven tries no conversions).
A couple of promising performances from our debut boys: Ryan and Jo, who incidentally play their old club next weekend ( Best of luck boys.). A very good game and all round performance from todays:
Man of the Match: Mickeal Ingham.
Coaches Comments: A very good performance but we have to have a little bit more patience, we need to lay off the ball a better. We have another game and two more training sessions before the county cup. We will work on our failings in training because this year we will go through this first stage of the County Cup. Well done today we were very pleased with the work rate of all the squad.
