Under 13 Match Report

SUNDAY 22nd January 2006

Leicester Forest 0pts v Lutterworth  24pts

Lutterworth kick off and Leicester Forest East take the ball and move up to the 10 yards line before knocking on to give Lutterworth an early attacking scrum. From the scrum Jack Tranter moves the ball out wide for centres Uldis Krievs and Jordan Tebb to take Lutterworth up o the Leicester Forest  22 yard line. Lutterworth keep up the pressure rucking and mauling to take the ball to within 10 yards of the Leicester Forest  line and from the subsequent scrum Jack Tranter passes inside to fly half Adam Fisher who breaks through the  Forest  defence and round the full back to open the score, Jack Tranter just misses the conversion from wide. Lutterworth continue to keep the pressure on with the forwards dominating the mauls and creating good ball for the backs to attack from and it was not long before forward Sam Weatherall breaks from a maul to dive over for Lutterworths second try, Jack Tranter converting to increase Lutterworths lead further.

Leicester Forest  could not get out of there half and when they did kick clear into the Lutterworth half full back Jamieson Hodges side steps the first two challengers before exchanging passes with centre Jordan Tebb to put Lutterworth back to the Forest  22 yard line. Continued pressure from the forwards led to Sam Huckerby breaking from another maul to touch down under the posts, Jack Tranter converting. Next it was the turn of the Lutterworth backs and the ball was passed across the back line for winger Josh Shevas to sprint round his opposite number before side stepping round the full back to touch down in the corner, the conversion was just missed by Chris Gutteridge from the side line.

Half Time Score Leicester Forest East 0 Lutterworth 24.

For the second half Lutterworth made a number of changes - a large number in the pack and this lost them a lot of their dominance with most of the second half played in the Lutterworth half.  Lutterworth defending really well but not getting the supply of ball to the backs to launch any meaningful attacking moves. However Lutterworth kept  Forest  from scoring and ran out comfortable winners
