Under 13 Match Report
SUNDAY 13th November 2005
Loughborough 26pts v Lutterworth 7pts
On a cold breezy
morning Lutterworth captain Chris Gutteridge won the toss and chose to play
into the wind. Jack Tranter kicked off for Lutterworth who were themselves
caught a bit cold when Loughborough caught the ball cleanly and swept up
field and from the maul they moved the ball across the backs and scored in
the corner. This was converted to give Loughborough an early 7-0 lead. With
the wind against them Lutterworth were struggling to clear the ball and
constant pressure from Loughborough set up their 2nd try - again converted.
In a rare Lutterworth break from a scrum in their own 22 Lutterworth moved
the ball along the backs for winger Josh Shevas to sprint past his man only
to be stopped on the Loughborough 22 by the full back. The danger was
cleared by Loughborough to give them a comfortably half time lead.

Now Lutterworth had the wind behind them the forwards and backs were
managing to gain some good ground and good breaks by Sam Huckerby and
Jamieson Hodges were cleared by the Loughborough defence. The Lutterworth
pressure had to tell and from a maul deep in the Loughborough 22 Sam
Huckerby broke away to score their first try, this was converted by Jack
Tranter to get Lutterworth back into the game. Lutterworth continued to take
the game to Loughborough and great breaks by Jarrad Carter and Harry Gregory
led to Jamieson Hodges crashing over only to have been judged to drop the
ball before touching it down. With time running out Lutterworth pressed
forward but it was Loughborough who from their own half passed the ball out
wide and swept up field to score. Another try at the final whistle gave
Loughborough the win.
