Under 13 Match Report
SUNDAY 11th December 2005
Sutton Coldfield 20pts v Lutterworth 12pts
Lutterworth
kicked off the proceedings and kept the early pressure deep inthe Sutton
Coldfield half. From the subsequent scrum Sutton Coldfield cleared upfield.
This led to a 10 minute period where both sets of forwards mauled, rucked
and scummaged in midfield trying to gain the advantage. Finally the
Lutterworth forwards did gain some ground and from the maul Sam Huckerby
broke away and barged through the defence to touch down under the posts,
Harry Gregory converting to give Lutterworth a 7-0 lead. This only spurred
on Sutton Coldfield and from the kick they took the game to Lutterworth
putting the defence under prolonged pressure. Saving tackles from back
Jordan Tebb and forward Chris Gutteridge kept Sutton Coldfield out but
finally they did get the reward for the pressure their backs touching down
in the corner. Sutton Coldfield kept up the pressure playing deep in the
Lutterworth half and again the pressure gained reward and Sutton Coldfield
scored again.

The second half was playing much more even each team taking play deep into
the opponents half only for the ball to be turned over and cleared. Finally
the Lutterworth backs got the ball wide and Josh Shevas darted down the wing
only to be stopped by a last ditch tackle by the Sutton Coldfield full back.
Another break this time from Jamieson Hodges again took the ball deep into
the Sutton Coldfield 22, but again it was cleared. Finally it was Sutton
Coldfield who got the break when the ball came loose from a maul on the
Lutterworth 22 yard line they moved it across the pitch to score in the
corner. A double blow came for Lutterworth when from he kick off Sutton
Coldfield took the ball and blasted straight through the defence to score
again. Back came Lutterworth to try and get back in the game and with time
running out Sam Huckerby broke through again to score in the corner, the
conversion was just missed from a difficult angle by Chris Gutteridge.
Lutterworth kept the pressure deep in the Sutton Coldfield 22 but could not
