Under 13 Match Report
SUNDAY 5th February 2006
Lutterworth 56pts v Vipers 24pts
Lutterworth kicked off and took play deep into the Vipers 22 and number 8 Chris Gutteridge showed their intention when from the first scrum he picked up from the base and ran through the first two defenders only to be tackled into touch just as he was about to cross the Vipers line. Lutterworth continued to dominate the rucks and mauls and Sam Huckerby broke from a maul 15 yards out and sprinted through the Vipers defensive line to open the scoring for Lutterworth. Harry Gregory converts the try to put Lutterworth 7-0 in front. From the Vipers kick Lutterworth take the ball straight back into their half and after a number of rucks and mauls are awarded a penalty 10 yards from the Vipers line. Scrum half Jamie Milner takes it quickly and passes to full back Jamieson Hodges who dives over for Lutterworths second try, Harry Gregory misses the conversion from a difficult angle.A rare Vipers attack is broken up by the Lutterworth defence and they pass the ball quickly across the backs and centre Jordan Tebb sprints around his marker and breaks the last tackle to score another Lutterworth try in the corner, Chris Gutteridge misses the conversion from a difficult angle.
It is all
Lutterworth with the forwards dominating and producing good quality ball for
the backs to put pressure on the Vipers defence and it was not long before
fly half Jake Watts broke through the Vipers defence for another Lutterworth
try, Harry Gregory just misses the conversion from a difficult angle.
Lutterworth still kept up the attack and again the ball was moved across the
backs and again centre Jordan Tebb broke through the Vipers defence to score
in the corner, Jamie Milner just misses the conversion from a difficult
angle. Lutterworth then took the opportunity to make some changes bringing
on a few different players and they lost their momentum letting Vipers score
two quick tries before half time
Half Time Lutterworth 27 Vipers 12
Vipers kicked off the second half and started as they finished the first
putting the Lutterworth defence under pressure and were soon rewarded when
they broke through the defence to score and converted the try to reduce the
Lutterworth lead. With this in mind Lutterworth made some changes in the
forward line and took the ball deep into the Vipers half and no. 8 Chris
Gutteridge broke through the Vipers defence to score, Harry Gregory missed
the conversion. This spurred Lutterworth on and the forwards started to gain
control again and when the ball was moved across the backs centre Jordan
Tebb broke though again to score and Harry Gregory converted the try to
increase Lutterworths lead further. Lutterworth were back in control of the
game and Sam Huckerby broke away from another maul and scored to increase
their lead even further, Harry Gregory just misses the conversion from a
difficult angle. But Lutterworth were not having it all their own way and
Vipers broke down the wing and scored in the corner, missed conversion.
Lutterworth kept the pressure on the Vipers defence and late tries from
centres Harry Andrews and Uldis Krievs, with one converted by Jamie Milner
left them convincing winners.
