Lutterworth travelled to North Leicester to play a team which they knew would be hard to beat.
The game was a very even contest right the way through the first half. With plenty of action but no scores being made from either side. Lutterworth just missed a penalty toward the end of the half from an offence that saw the Syston flanker sent to the sin bin. 1st half finished 0 – 0.
The second half was as hard and fast as the first. Syston wanted to play the ball fast and wide while the older more experienced Lutterworth side were playing close and tight. Lutterworth were able to put pressure on and get close to the line on a number of occasions but just not over it! Syston scored when for some reason the Lutts defence opened up to allow their centre to score under the posts. This was converted. Mid way through the second half the ref awarded Syston a penalty which was converted. Lutts fought hard but unfortunately they were not going to score. Final result 10 – 0 to Syston.
