2nd TEAM Match Report
Saturday 30th October 2004
Kibworth 2nds 5pts V Lutterworth 2nds 17pts
Lutterworth visited neighbours Kibworth last Saturday for a league fixture.
Right from the kick off Lutterworth retained the ball, after three quick phases Mark Barber jinxed his way around two defenders to score. Barber converted his own try. From then on Lutterworth spent a majority of the first half in the opposition 22. The home side had one passage of play that seemed to catch Lutterworth off guard, allowing them to run through the defence to score a try. After that Lutterworth kept a hold on the game and after some excellent driving mauls the ball was shipped to Jez Bell who went over to score. This run caused Bell to pull a hamstring and was replaced by Ben Stretten.
The second half was spent mostly in the Kibworth 22, but some stubborn defence from the home side just seemed to keep Lutterworth from crossing their line. In the final 10 minutes, the hard work finally paid off when a Kibworth kick was charged down to allow winger James Circum to slide in for the final score.
