Lutterworth 15pts V Hinckley 17pts
Lutterworth under 17s narrow defeat at home to Hinckley (15-17)
Unfortunately, Hinckley turned up with only 7 players, but rather than abandon the game, we lent them 4 and played an 11 a side match, with 25 minutes each way, despite the highly unusual nature of the game it was a very hard fought and fast paced affair, with some very adventurous running by the backs.
Hinckley scored first, but Lutterworth quickly responded with a breakthrough try by Grant Nolan, who scored in the corner. The very windy conditions caused great problems for both lineout throwers, and Hinckley’s second try came from a lineout on the Lutterworth 5m line, where they broke through to score.
Lutterworth’s second try came from some great overlapping backs play to release Matt Lund-Yates who scored in the corner. Half time score 10-10.
The second half was more of the same with a great deal of hard running and defence by both sides, eventually Hinckley backs broke through to score under the posts, which was converted. After a few minutes Lutterworth responded with a breakthrough try scored by Mick Brightmore, unfortunately the conversion went a few inches wide of the left upright.
With only a few seconds on the clock, Lutterworth went on the rampage down the left wing with Dan Wesley leading the charge, after several phases of play the ball went into touch and the ref blew for full time, final
