Under 13 Match Report

SUNDAY 21st  December 2003

Lutterworth   38pts  V  Hinckley 0pts

Lutts U13’s finish year in style!

On Sunday Lutterworth under 13’s extended their unbeaten run to 13 games, with a 38-0 home win over local rivals Hinckley.

Great hands early on saw the ball move quickly along from Lloyd to Parrott and finally on to Greg Littlewood, who made a superb run from his own half to score under the posts. He also scored the simple conversion.

Lutts continued the pressure as the 5-minute mark approached. Scrum half Lloyd took a quick tap penalty, close to the Hinckley line and Mathew Everard came in on a great angle to receive the pass and force his way over the line. Will Keeling was successful with the kick.

Quick hands saw the ball move along the line to Littlewood, who despite juggling the ball from a difficult pass, managed to hold on to it, beat three players and score another great try.

With seconds remaining to the end of the half, Lutts attempted to repeat the first try with beautiful hands moving the ball along the line to Littlewood. He again received the ball at speed and split the Hinckley defence in half as he scored under the posts to register a great hat trick. Keeling scored the conversion. By far the best half of rugby played by this fantastic team ended 24-0 to Lutts.

Hinckley came out of the blocks early in the second half but this superb Lutterworth defence held out anything that was thrown at it. They soon turned defence into attack as again quick hands saw the ball move out to Keeling, who beat three players to score a great try. Littlewood converted.

With 10 minutes to go Lutts scored their final try as Ashley Parrott picked up a loose ball and forced his way over the line. Keeling was successful with the conversion. Hinckley showed their courage by continuing to attempt to score a try, but this defence was not going to be breached today.

In a performance that oozed class, this was a fitting end to Lutterworth’s under 13’s year.
