Under 13 Match Report

SUNDAY 16th November 2003

Lutterworth 27pts   V   Syston  12pts

Lutts under 13’s remain unbeaten!

On Sunday Lutterworth under 13’s extended their unbeaten run to 7 games, with a 27-12 away win at Syston.

Mathew Everard thought he had opened the scoring after steeling the ball, only to be pulled up for too many players in the lineout. However, he did register a score 5 minutes later after some great running from Dan Holmes, Everard picked up to drive over the line. Greg Littlewood slotted over the conversion. Minutes later Lutts had a scrum close to the Syston line, the ball was moved along the line and onto Dan Holmes, who drove through for a great try.

The one-way traffic continued as again quick ball from the scrum passed through 3 sets of hands for Littlewood to score a lovely try. Lutts then repeated the move with scrum half James Lloyd moving the ball quickly to Holmes, onto Keeling, to Littlewood and then finally to Joe Sullivan who drove through 3 players to score another great team try. That left it 22-0 at half time.

Syston were straight out of the blocks as they immediately attacked to score a quick try to reduce the deficit. That score seamed to unsettle Lutts as they lost all the momentum from the first half.

After a scrappy 15 minutes of play, it took a flash of inspiration from Will Keeling as he scored a great individual try, with a lovely run down the wing, beating 5 players in the process. Syston ended the game with a consolation try and conversion to leave the final score 27-12.
