Under 13 Match Report
SUNDAY 15th February 2004
Lutterworth 22pts V South Leicester 12pts
On Sunday Lutterworth under 13’s welcomed South Leicester to Ashby Lane in conditions that were very sticky under foot. Both teams were missing some key players due to holiday commitments, so an open exciting game was expected.
James Cooke got the scoring off the mark, after Ashley Parrott pulled the ball out of a maul, made some good yardage and then off loaded to Cooke. He used his speed to out sprint all around him and then touched down in the corner.
Lutts continued to pressure and a second try had to come. Quick scrum ball by Lloyd led to a great ball to Will Keeling. He went off in on a superb individual run, eventually cutting through the middle of the defence and under the posts. Keeling also successfully converted.
Lutterworth again found them selves camped out on the opposition line and a superb push and drive by all the forwards saw Ashley Parrott driven successfully over the line. Not to be out done South Leicester then had a good passage of play leading to a good break and try.
As if hurt by this reply, Lutts raced up into opposition half and great hands saw the ball moved all the way along the line and in to Liam Healy’s hands. He used his strength to squeeze through for his first try of the season.
In the final few minutes South scored a consolation try, which was converted to make the final score 22-12 to Lutterworth.
A bit of a disjointed game saw Lutterworth make it win 19 from 19 games.
