1st TEAM   Match Report

SATURDAY  28th  February 2004

Stoneygate 1st XV: 7pts   V    Lutterworth 1st XV: 24

Lutterworth Colts, Ben Stretton, Will King and James Prince all showed their potential when they joined first team regulars to take on Midland Three opponents Stoneygate in this non-league clash. The Lutterworth pack was hugely superior throughout the game and lock Ben Husthwaite took the ball over for an early score from a line out catch and drive.  Number 8, Adam Conway, added five points scoring from the back of a five metre scrum and fly half, Jim Croucher,  rounded off the first half with a try and conversion to give the visitors a comfortable 19 to nil half time lead.  The home side replied in the second half with a converted try and despite phase after phase of attacking play by Lutterworth managed to hold the visitors to a single unconverted try by new boy, Will King.

This was an impressive all round performance by a young  Lutterworth squad.

Man of the match had to go to Adam Conway,  closely followed by scrum half Matt Soulsby and centre Paul Concar.
